One example of the outreach
program in actionwas the
COPparticipating in a
three-weekSafetyCampaign
with23 schools in the
northern region.More than
500 students and their
familieswere involved. In
addition to highlighting
numerous day-to-day safety
practices, the campaign
focusedon road safety
awareness.
Another examplewas
the 2011GarangaoDay
Celebrations. GarangaoDay
is aQatari children’s holiday,
heldon the 14
th
day of the
HolyMonthof Ramadan.
In2011, DolphinEnergy
and theCOP celebrated
the holidaywithover 300
children, dressed in their
traditional attire, were
treated to a variety of cultural
events, heldunder the theme
“Sharing the spirit
of Garangao”.
Both initiatives are examples
of theCOP’s determination
to nurture the respectful,
understanding, and trust-
basedpartnershipbetween
the companies inRas Laffan
Industrial City and the
surrounding communities.
DolphinEnergy’s
contributions to theCOP,
and its ongoingdialogue
with the companies and
institutions of theRas Laffan

demonstrate its commitment
to local communities.
