outsideworking hours
• Best practices: Green ITpolicies regardingbest practice
usage are enforced through configureddouble-sided

* The energy savings in 2011 have beenmeasured as follows: (1) Server consolidation and virtualization: 60MWh (2) Auto shutdown of PCs: 102MWh (3) Managedprint
services inUAE: 94MWh
In the next few years these
savingswill be evenmore
significant through new
programs introduced under
theDolphinEnergyGreen
IT Initiative. The anticipated
savings are estimated to total
about 350MWh in 2012 and
500MWh in2013, when the
ManagedPrint Services are
planned togo take effect
inQatar. At the same time,
the enhancement of the
online collaborative solution
through the integrationof
a unified communications
frameworkwill further reduce
travel requirements between
operating locations.

Inparallel with, and tobetter
structure itsDolphinEnergy
Green IT Initiative, the IT
department is currently
developing a comprehensive
energy savings and carbon
footprintmeasurement
framework that will include
all company servers,
workstations, network
equipment, printers, storage,
and tape libraries in theUAE
and inQatar.
