of wastematerials, which arebeingmonitored in the company’swaste
management system. This has significantly increased the amount of waste
generated in 2010; as such, the 2010 figureswill be used as thebaselines
for DolphinEnergy going forward.
In 2010, Dolphinminimizedwasteby recycling all waste oil. However, the
overall solid hazardouswaste shipped for disposal increasedby three times
compared to2009. Thiswas becausewaste stored in adedicatedwaste
storage area, which has accumulated since 2007, was cleared away during
the year. Officewaste includes paper, toners, tin cans, plasticproducts,
andother items. To reduce officewaste, DolphinEnergy has implemented
anofficewaste recyclingprogram. In2010, Qatar operations extended
the officewaste recyclingprogram to include e-waste (printer cartridges,
electronicwaste, screens andwires). Collectively, Dolphin’sUAE andQatar
operations recycledover 236,700Kg in 2010. In2011, Qatar operations
is committed to expanding its recyclingprogram to theAl Khor Community,
