The fluctuation in theUAE energy consumptionnumbers is due to the
energy invoicing schedule, and is not due to any specific initiatives
undertaken inour UAEoperations. All energy consumption numbers
havebeen restated fromprevious years, using amore accuratemethod
ofmeasurement.
In 2010, DolphinEnergy producedover 1,800 tons of GHG emissions
from vehiclepetrol anddiesel consumption and fromdiesel consumption
inour operations. The vehicles petrol (litres usage) was calculated
erroneously inprior years for theUAE, which has been corrected and
hence restated in this report. In2010, sixty-nineUAE-based vehicles
contributed to 612,000 litres of petrol consumption. For safety reasons,
DolphinEnergy operates a fleet of vehicles that continuously patrol the
entire gas pipeline network in theUAE.
InQatar, thirty-nine vehicles contributed to the consumptionof 179,000
litres of petrol in 2010. Qatar operations havebegun to reduce the
number of vehicles in its fleet in an attempt to curb emissions; the
number of diesel vehicleswere reduced from 56 in2009 to51 in2010,
and the number of petrol vehicleswere reducedby 6 in 2010.
