Abu Dhabi Oil Corporation Limited today announced it had
achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification. The company now has certified management
systems that are in line with globally recognized quality management standards.
Commenting on the certification, Mr. Obaid Abdullah Al Dhaheri, Chief Executive
Officer, Abu Dhabi Oil Corporation Limited, said, “This reconfirms to all our stakeholders that our
management systems are efficient and will help produce consistent results in
compliance with international standards.”
The journey to ISO 9001:2015 certification has been a comprehensive one. It included
analysis of the standard requirements against the company’s existing practices to
identify gaps and the development of action plans to close those gaps. In addition, skills
training for the company’s employees leading the initiative was undertaken and
processes and procedures mandated by the standard and best practices to ensure
effective implementation were also developed.
The project was led by Abu Dhabi Oil Corporation’s Corporate Risk & Quality team who worked
closely with management and representatives from all business units. The team tasked
with overseeing the certification used new, available digital technology for documented
information management, status dashboards and automation of workflows. The
company’s strategy to reach the required standards was underpinned by continuous
employee engagement and an extensive communication program.
Mr. Ali Alrahbi, General Manager – Qatar, added: “Obtaining ISO 9001:2015
certification allows us to manage our business in a way that will ensure time, resources,
and costs are optimized. This approach will carry the company forward for many years
to come.”
Reaching ISO 9001:2015 certification also marks the completion of the first phase of the
Abu Dhabi Oil Corporation Excellent Program (DEEP). The next phase of the program will see the
preparation and application for the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award in 2023.
