Abu Dhabi , United Arab Emirates , 5 October 2013: One of the UAE’s biggest energy companies, Abu Dhabi Oil Corporation will work with the Emirates Foundation for Youth Development to create programmes to empower, inspire and motivate the country’s young population.
Under a bilateral cooperation agreement announced today, Abu Dhabi Oil Corporation will provide financial, marketing, business development and administration support for Emirates Foundation programmes designed to make a positive social impact.
In return Abu Dhabi Oil Corporation will have access to Foundation research and the right to participate in the Foundation’s Business Breakfast forum giving business leaders, entrepreneurs and senior public sector representatives the opportunity to discuss issues related to the development of young Emiratis’ energies and skills.
Commenting on the partnership, the Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer, Clare Woodcraft, said the Foundation was always keen to strengthen cooperation with companies and institutions in the public and private sectors to advance development.
“This agreement embodies the commitment of corporate strategic cooperation in the field of social responsibility, by providing support for Emirates Foundation programmes aimed at motivating and inspiring young Emiratis and developing their abilities and leadership skills to ensure a sustainable future for the country,” Woodcraft said.
The Emirates Foundation and its public and private sector partners work to create a positive and lasting change in the lives of UAE youth through the development of long-term, sustainable and scalable projects which address pressing social issues while creating opportunities for young people to volunteer and serve the community.
Outlining the reasons behind the company’s support, Mr Ibrahim Ahmed Al Ansaari, General Manager, Abu Dhabi Oil Corporation , UAE said the company was committed to developing and refining the capabilities of Emirati youth.
“This agreement reflects our commitment to develop a relationship with social institutions that promote the exchange of knowledge about the challenges and opportunities available to youths in the UAE. We hope our support will help to provide them with a range of skills to promote their individual capacities through volunteer work, community service or as entrepreneurs," Mr Al Ansaari added.
