Abu Dhabi Oil Corporation Qatar And UNESCO Hold Joint Sustainability Meet

Abu Dhabi, 15 November, 2011: As part of Abu Dhabi Oil Corporation Qatar’s commitment towards the environment and in support of the Qatar National Vision 2030, the company’s HSE & Security department organized a joint workshop with UNESCO on sustainable development.

Targeting Abu Dhabi Oil Corporation employees, the session was aimed to raise awareness of environmentalism in Qatar and emphasize the need for a long term commitment to sustainable development.

Titled, “Sustainable development through UNESCO’s eyes’ the workshop comprised presentations of important areas like water and human development, marine environment and climate change.

Commenting on the company’s involvement, Mr Adel Ahmed Albuainain, General Manager, Abu Dhabi Oil Corporation Qatar, said: “Employees are essential participants in the process of raising awareness and have an important role to play in helping to maintain our high levels of environmental performance.”

“We are committed to embedding the principles of sustainability into our operations and managing the business in an environmentally conscious manner. We will also continue to endorse initiatives that place the environment at the heart of the development agenda,” Mr. Albuainain continued.
