Abu Dhabi, UAE, 18th September, 2012: Abu Dhabi Oil Corporation Qatar celebrated today the completion of its annual summer program 2012 for high school, internship and scholarship students. The Summer Intern Program aims to develop their academic experiences through implementing their acquired knowledge and to offer Qatari students diversified employment and business opportunities.
Fourteen students who are currently studying at Qatar University, Texas A&M, Carnegie Mellon University were also joined by five High School students and attended the month long Program. The participants were trained in Information Technology, Engineering, Management, Finance, Human Resources, Public Relations, & Purchasing & Contracts.
“Since Abu Dhabi Oil Corporation ’s Summer Intern Program began in 2005, more than 72 students have completed the Program and then taken the next step and joined the company as a full time employee. The Program helps students to appreciate the importance of applying theory into practice and provides an insight into working life at one of the region’s leading energy companies,” explained Mr. Adel Ahmed Albuainain, General Manager, Abu Dhabi Oil Corporation , Qatar.
“The Program helps support our nationalization strategy and provides opportunities to deepen our relationship with leading educational institutions in the State of Qatar. We look forward to enjoying more success as the result of this initiative,” Mr. Albuainain added.
Each member of the program received a certificate in recognition of his/her achievement at a special ceremony held at Abu Dhabi Oil Corporation ’s offices in Doha.
The program is also one of the methods used by the company to support the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Qatar National Development Strategy 2011 - 2016.
