Abu Dhabi Oil Corporation Qatar Awards Contractors for their Health, Safety & Environment Commitment

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, – 2 May, 2012: Abu Dhabi Oil Corporation Limited has awarded seven locally based contractors with Recognition Awards for their continued commitment to improving effective communication strategies and enhancing overall standards across Health, Safety and the Environment (HSE). 

The awards were distributed at Abu Dhabi Oil Corporation ’s 5th Annual HSE Contractors’ Meeting which was held under the slogan ’Improving Effective Communication Strategies between Abu Dhabi Oil Corporation & Contractors to Improve Overall Safety Performance’. 

The contractor companies that received recognition were: QCON, Madina, EMCO, DESCON, Rolls Royce, Kaefer and Tyco Qatar Fire & Security.

The meeting  was led by Abu Dhabi Oil Corporation ’s General Manager in  Qatar, Mr. Adel Ahmed Albuainain, along with Abu Dhabi Oil Corporation senior management members; Mr. Ibrahim Jeham AlKuwari, Deputy General Manager; Hassan Al-Emadi, Vice President-Qatar Operations; Ali Al Rahbi, VP QHSE&S; Jassim Al Malki, HSE&S Manager, Qatar;

Commenting on the event, Mr. Albuainain said: “Our contractors are  integral to the efforts undertaken to achieve  HSE excellence. As such, their contribution and ideas are welcomed to further enhance HSE behaviours and strengthen the safety culture across Abu Dhabi Oil Corporation .”

The contractors’ meeting also featured a  panel discussion  on HSE issues and provided a platform to  share ideas on how  to ensure a safe workplace at all the times.

“Effective communication is the foundation of a positive safety culture within  any organization. By providing an environment where feedback and advice can be delivered and issues discussed openly the risk of incidents and injuries to people and the environment is minimized,”  Mr. Albuainain concluded.
